What are all the possible reasons my LG dryer is not drying my clothes?
I'm renting a house that was built in 2005. I bought a brand new LG steam dryer and it never seemed to dry my clothes well. I have to dry my clothes at the least 3 times. We noticed the vent to the outside is 3 inches (I thought the standard is 4 since our dryer is), and I understand this could be one of the reasons. We cleaned out the vent already and the dryer's only been hooked up for less than 6 months. Water occasionally leaks and the lint filter barely collects any lint. Usually I have to clean wet lint from the door. Smells a bit smoky when running also. What do you think the problem is and what else can I do to fix it? Is there a small chance the dryer itself is contributing to this? I'm scared that this is a fire hazard. Please let me know. Thanks.

Since it's brand new, have an LG repair person look at it. and stay there when they are fixing it.
And make sure it works before they leave.
