Replace a Refrigerator Water Filter (Turning Style)

Installing an HVAC Cooling System

The cooling system in an HVAC unit is only a part of a larger picture.  The HVAC system itself covers all that it says in its title, heating, ventilating and air conditioning.  These units have been replacing old methods of heating the home, such as space heaters, fireplaces, and gas furnaces.  The only thing that the cooling aspect of an HVAC system replaced was that of the fan.

Before air conditioning was incorporated into the basic functioning of a home, it was up to the person how they kept cool.  The air conditioning portion of an HVAC unit consists of the refrigeration parts that are attached and control the humidity and coolness in a specific area.  The warm air inside the house blows across the evaporator coils, creating a refrigerated effect, which cools the air.  The warm air is moved outside the house through the ventilation ducts while the cool air is transferred back into the home.

The reason that the cooling and heating units in this type of system are combined is so that they can share the same duct system, reducing the cost of materials and the space needed for the ductwork.  Proper dealers can help decide what system would work best in your home for your needs.  These professionals will also be able to suggest tips on maintaining the system, installation charges and requirements, and repair costs. They will be able to assure the homeowner of the quality of the item that is being installed and make sure they are getting exactly what they need for their particular home.

Many manufacturers today are becoming more environmentally conscious, making attempts to adjust the cooling systems that are put into homes so that they do not use as many natural resources and are more cost efficient for the user.  For a proper air conditioner to work correctly, the ductwork throughout the house must be secure and in good working order.  The dust and grime that can gather in these ducts should be checked for every now and then to make sure no allergens are being spread through the house when the unit is in use.  When a system sits for a while, the ductwork and insulation can become damaged or worn out, perhaps even invaded by vermin.  In these cases it is wise to replace both the ductwork and the insulation.

When a cooling system begins to fail and the air that comes out of the vents on a hot summer day is as hot as the air outside, you know you have a problem.  You may need to consult a professional to check it out.  Often, filters and coils inside the unit have become frozen over with gathered condensation. This happens when these filters and coils have become damaged somehow.  If you find this is the case with your HVAC unit, do not remove the ice with hammers or blunt instruments, as this will cause a lot of damage to these components.

Frequently Asked Questions...

insect in refrigerator water?

We had our Kenmore refrigerator for a less than a year and some black/brown clump plopped out into my wife's glass. We called Sears and after showing them more of the dirty water (what looked like small black feces), they told us that they saw nothing and would not flush the system or repair it...that it was a liability. I did not see the same in my tap water and even removed the filter and still had the same problem. The water company said that it was probably something (an insect) that crawled into the fridge while it was in a warehouse somewhere and was just now coming out. He even went on to say that there was probably enough bacteria to make us sick...I had off and on diarrhea and both sons had strep throat and ear infections 3 times during the year.
Sears refuses to help in any way unless we can identify this...even after looking at the pictures.

Can anyone help identify this or tell me what it is? I have pictures that I would be glad to email anyone if you can help.

Answer:

the strep is most likely not caused from whatever was in you water. and come hire a specialist that does water safety. they will test the water to see if its harmful or not. (a problem like this happened to me). It can be pricey but worth keeping your family safe. And in the mean time just by a water filter to clean your tap water. or just drink tap water.
