Normally reserved for the Feng Shui garden, water fountains can also be placed indoors for positive energy, also called good Chi. The ancient Chinese felt that water was energy and that it was a perfect sign of prosperity and abundance. Of course, Feng Shui also notes that using fountains, especially indoors, will dispel the negative energy in the air as well as provide a bit of moisture as many homes have dry air.
But knowing where to place your fountain is important. You want to find the north, east and southeast areas of your home. These are the optimal areas to place your tabletop water fountain. Each of the areas - north, east, and southeast - enhance a different part of your life. So if you want wealth and prosperity, look to place the right Feng Shui symbols in the southeast. If you want family and health, then focus on the east. The north direction corresponds to life goals and your career.
Let's go into more detail to help you choose a location or two in your home for an indoor water fountain:
- We mentioned that the southeast area of your home represent abundance and wealth. It is associated with the wood element. Water in this area will work because water and wood go well together. you should use your best favorable direction (Sheng Qi) that is North-West to place your bed, desk etc.
As to where to place your water fountain, analyze your home according to the Flying Star system to know in which sector of the house you should place it, which could be another room than your living room. But if it is your bedroom, avoid to place the water fountain there.
There is no specific direction to place a water fountain, so if you want to apply Feng Shui accurately, check first the Flying Stars.
