How To Drink The Cleanest Water From Your Tap
There are always concerns about the quality of water we consume but we do sometimes hear tales of problems at the water plant or with the pipes and that our water may have to be boiled before drinking for a few days. I worry because this is the water my family drinks we use it to cook food in and all our clothes are washed in this same water.
The usual way of cleaning water is with the use of chlorine but some people may have adverse side effects and a lot of people say they don't like the taste of their local water supply.
If you would like to protect your families drinking water you can do so with water filters and purifying systems to clean all the water that you use. It is not difficult to use a water filtration system but installation difficulty depends very much on the system you choose from very simple or the more complicated plumbed in systems.
The simplest systems are the purifiers such as the Britas water jug which anyone can use as they are water pitchers that fill with water and you keep them filled in your kitchen ready to use as required. The more permanent installations include purifiers that are simply fitted over the normal sink faucet which enables you to have running water that has been filtered.
These offer a fairly low cost option and they are more than adequate for most purposes but people often decide to have a fully installed system at a later date. Permanent drinking water purifiers are built right into your plumbing system and purify your water as it comes through the pipes cleaned and ready for you to drink.
These permanent solutions may need you to change the filter cartridge once in a while to ensure the water remains clean at all times. You will find that a fully installed water purifying system will work out at a higher cost than the simple pitcher and faucet mounted models but you don't need to think about them at all except for maybe changing a filter cartridge occasionally.
The distillation drinking water purifiers work without filters though boiling water and condensing the steam on a cold metal surface and the clean and pure water can be collected leaving any contaminated material in a tray below. We can't go on without mentioning two other water filtration systems available these are the UV purifiers and the reverse osmosis system.
Ultraviolet rays are used in the UV purifiers that pass through the through water and effectively killing off any bacteria that are floating within. With the reverse osmosis water filters your water is made to go through a screen made up of holes that can filter out the tiniest of particles.
So these systems give you the cleanest water you can get taking out all sorts of things you would not want in your water to reassure you that your drinking water is pure. Any of these different systems will help clean your water but of all the options the reverse osmosis water purifiers do the best job and these are the most complete systems you can get.

Reverse Osmosis system - replace filters?
I have a Rainsoft Reverse Osmosis system, we replaced all of the filters and everything worked fine. Than we had to replace the membrane - we get a little bit of water at full pressure and than a trickle. Does anyone know how to fix this? OR what did I do wrong? Thanks. Joann in Florida
