Homemade Bottled Water Using A Water Filter
You've probably heard the news by now that bottled water is posing an environmental issues for the world. The number of plastic water bottles that end up in landfills on a daily basis is astonishing and demonstrates that most are not being recycled.
The power used to make plastic bottles, move them to their final destination, and the fact that a lot of the water is simply filtered faucet water are all reasons why you might purchase a water filter for your personal use. Making your own "bottled" water will save you money and help protect the planet.
One of the most popular brands is Brita water filters. They are made in various models and sizes, can be connected directly to your sink, or come as part of a water holding tank setup that you keep in your refrigerator. I personally use the brita ob35, because I like having chilled water available 24 hours a day as this pitcher fits perfectly in the refrigerator. However, all sorts works well.
Water filters will take out impurities and chlorine and leave your water tasting just as good as most bottled brands . This makes it a good choice for you and your family.
Along with creating lovely tasting drinks available to you and your family 24 hours a day, using a filter can save you a bit of money. On average, tap water costs pennies on the dollar compared to buying bottled.
Tap water might also be healthier than some bottled water, as there are not as many laws in place covering bottled water regulation as there are for faucet water laid down by city municipalities. Therefore, it could be argued, that filtering your own water in the house is possibly better for you than bottled anyway, and definitely better from an environmental point of view.
If you buy a refillable water bottle you will also have access to filtered water when travelling or at work - places where you typically use the bottled variety. Reusable bottles can be purchased from most stores and they come in a variety of sizes and materials, from stainless steel to plastic and glass. Getting one for everyone in your family will allow them to have their own bottled water with them wherever they go.
Investing in water filters for your home is a sensible and "green" choice to make for your whole family and the planet in general. You get the same or improved quality of water, save some hard earned dollars, and help improve the environment.

Frequently Asked Questions...
If i get a cold air intake should i get just the filter or would the pipe help?
The filter fits on the pipe that is already on there but it is rubber and i wanted to know if the metal one would give any more power?
Answer:
There is absolutely no reason why changing from a rubber to a metal pipe would increase your horsepower. Just replace the filter and go on.
