Why Are Everpure Water Filters Losing Out So Easily To Other Equivalent Filters?
Who doesn't know about Everpure water filters? I bet everyone knows that they are an established household name today. But even then, why is it that they are not winning any customer appreciation awards? There is another water filter company which has been voted as the "Best Buy" and that too for consecutive 6 years in a row - 2003-2008. Let us find out why this is so.
When it comes to Everpure water filters, the company prefers to spend a huge amount of money in advertising and promotional campaigns. While the other manufacturer - which as I mentioned has been winning awards consecutively for 6 years now - prefers investing the money on improving the design and the performance of the water purifier.
These systems are based on latest cutting edge technologies such as sub micron filtration and ion exchange and this is the reason why they easily outperform Everpure water filters.
Let us compare the results for both the filters:
Everpure blocks up to 87% Chlorine. Now this may seem like a big percentage - but not after you hear that the other filter can block chlorine up to 98%!
You will find similar results for all other contaminants as well. While the blocking percentage is 97% for Everpure, it is as high as 99.9% for the other filter.
Another problem with these filters is that they are effective only against chlorine, lead and cysts; and they simply do not work for all other types of pollutants. As per the studies, drinking water contains over 80,000 contaminants at one time or another and out of which 21,00 are known to be carcinogens.
With this low result, do you think Everpure water filters will be able to keep their promise of safeguarding your family against these hazardous contaminants? I seriously doubt.
There is only one thing which is high for these filters and that is their price. Their basic model is priced at $360 - which let me tell you - is absolutely unreasonable. You can easily find better performing models costing you $125 only.
Tell me; with all this information does it make any sense in wasting your money over these filters while the better ones are already available in the market?
This is the plain simple reason why other filters are winning all the accolades and recognition while Everpure water filters have restricted themselves to the rich who simply follow the brand name – who consider that the costlier the product is, the better it is going to be.

How difficult is it to replace an EverPure water filter?
Previous occupant of my home installed an EverPure H-54 water filter to filter the water going to the water dispenser and ice maker of the refrigerator. I've seen these filters online for $55 or so. Is this something that I can easily replace by shutting off the water and using some simple wrenches and screwdrivers? Or should I get it professionally installed?
Answer:
It's actually very simple to replace. This is a copy and paste from the Everpure website.
How do I remove “used” cartridges and install new ones?
Shut off water and relieve line pressure. For heads with built-in shut-off valve, fully lift handle until it stops.
Hold head firmly. Push upward on cartridge and turn it to left 1/4 turn, until rotation stops.
Pull cartridge out of head.
Align new cartridge lug with head label. Hold head firmly. Insert new cartridge into head.
Turn cartridge to right 1/4 turn until rotation stops.
Turn on water supply. For heads with built-in valve, lower handle.
Note: For head with revolving ring, make sure the valve handle locks firmly into the ring notch.
Flush cartridge by running water through filtered faucet for three minutes to flush cartridge and purge it of air.
